WITH the UK’s exit from the European Union just 42 days away, Redditch MP Rachel Maclean will be hosting a Brexit summit with Redditch businesses to discuss what Brexit will mean for them.
As part of her commitment to supporting local businesses and Redditch’s economy, she is bringing together more than 40 businesses from across the town at Redditch Golf Club.
These businesses employ thousands of people in Redditch and will be affected by the UK’s exit from the European Union on March 29.
At the event Mrs Maclean is hoping to discuss what Brexit will mean for business and her commitment to securing a deal with the EU to ensure Redditch firms have certainty about the future and time to prepare for the UK’s future relationship with the EU.
“I’m committed to delivering the Brexit a majority of my constituents voted for, but I want to ensure we do so in a way which protects my constituents’ jobs,” she said.
“The businesses attending my seminar on Friday employ thousands and contribute to our town’s economy.
“A majority of them will be affected by Brexit and I want to ensure they know what Brexit will mean for their business.
“From my hundreds of visits to businesses I know the vast majority of them are upbeat and optimistic about the future, but of course many of them just want certainty and want to know what trading relationship will be in place when the UK leaves the EU on March 29.
“There are still places available at Friday’s seminar and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there.”
The event is this Friday, February 15 from 12.30pm at Redditch Golf Club, Lower Grinsty Lane.
