Redditch United will be looking good for next season with new kit

Redditch Editorial 18th May, 2024   0

REDDITCH United have announced the winners of their anticipated Design a Kit Competition as they revealed their kits for the 2024/25 season.

Students from Ipsley Middle School, Studley High School and a Redditch United U12 team were crowned the winners.

The competition saw Redditch school-aged children have the chance to design the club’s homes and away kits for next season.

The Club received 2,312 entries and were blown away by the response from the community.

Redditch United’s staff had the difficult choice of narrowing the designs down to a shortlist of five home designs and five away designs with the those making it through being put up for a public vote.

It was decided that Maia Manfredi’s away kit design would make a perfect goalkeeping kit, so they chose their first competition winner.

The voting lasted three days, with one day at the football club on a match day and the other two days in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

The shortlisted kits were turned into real life shirts by VX3 which really made the competition come to life.

Over 2,600 votes were collected as The Reds uncovered the winning designs.

Honour Hickey, of Ipsley Middle School, was announced as the home kit winner and Lewis McGrillen, of a Redditch United U12 team, for the away kit.

Maia Manfredi, of Studley High School, was also able to show off her goalkeeping design. All shortlisted entries received a framed shirt of their design and a signed football and the winners will receive an entire kit for their respective school, an invite to the 2024/25 squad photo and plenty more.

A club spokesperson said: “We would like to thank all of the children who entered a design as well as everyone who voted and engaged with the competition.

“Congratulations to Honour, Lewis and Maia for their fantastic designs.

“We’re looking forward to seeing all 600 plus RUFC players, including the Men’s and Women’s First Teams, wearing their kits next season.”
