Worcestershire care home staff and volunteers urged to get Covid jabs before law change

Redditch Editorial 25th Aug, 2021   0

CARE HOME staff who have not yet had their Covid-19 vaccines need to get their jabs soon.

A law change means everyone working or volunteering in a CQC registered care home will need to have had both jabs by November 11.

That means the deadline for the first vaccine is September 16.

The law also includes anyone entering a care home to provide a service, including social workers, volunteers, hairdressers, health workers and maintenance workers.

Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for health and wellbeing, Coun Karen May, said: “It’s really important all those who regularly provide services to people in care homes get vaccinated in time. We are urging anyone who attends a care home, even if they are volunteers to get the jab as soon as possible.”

People can book jabs at Artrix in Bromsgrove, Knights Pharmacy in Redditch, St Peter’s Baptist Church in Worcester or The Three Counties Showground in Malvern by logging on to nhs.uk

There are also several walk-in ‘grab-a-jab’ events across Worcestershire.
