A MULTI-award-winning Worcestershire-based string quartet is celebrating after scooping yet another accolade.

Capriccio, who recently celebrated their 20th anniversary, has been recognised and awarded by top UK businessman and ex-Dragons’ Den presenter Theo Paphitis.

Capriccio was awarded an SBS (Small Business Sunday) award and got the opportunity to go to Birmingham for the awards ceremony, play for fellow winners and meet Mr Paphitis.

Small Business Sunday was created in 2010 and is one of the leading small business communities in the UK enabling like-minded individuals to share successes and learnings.

“I admire people who have passion and energy, I set up SBS to offer a platform to small businesses so they can shout about the services they offer,” Mr Paphitis said.

Capriccio founding violinist Lynette Webster said: “To be recognised with an award like this has been a dream. I’m lucky enough to work with some of the most talented musicians in the industry, playing at weddings and corporate events all over the world.

“We are so passionate about the music we play and we know how lucky we are to love our work. It’s wonderful that our passion has been noticed by others and we cant wait to see what the next 20 years will bring.”

Viola player Cecily Howick added: “Meeting Theo Paphitis has been a career highlight and to be recognised by such a distinguished man in business was amazing. It has been a real honour to play with Capriccio for so many years.”

Over the years, Capriccio has played at some impressive locations, including opening the Monaco Boat show at the Hotel de Paris.

They are a favourite at weddings and events across the UK and this year is set to be their busiest on record with more than 130 weddings and events to play.

Set up in June 2001, Capriccio has become a firm favourite in Worcestershire and beyond playing music across many genres from pop and rock to more traditional classical and ballads.
