A WYCHBOLD author has released her first history adventure novel.

Susanne Margaret Hinton has written Vikrin Fire under the pen name of S M Hinton.

She said: “I work as an accountant and spent a lot of time daydreaming on my daily commute between Wychbold and her offices in Stratford.

“I would think up plots, storylines and places on my journeys and thought ‘I need to write those down’.

“When I came to write, it just flowed and I got completely absorbed in the fantasy world I had created.

“I enjoyed every single minute of it.”

Vikrin Fire centres on three gallant young men who set off on a quest to uncover the identity of a traitor behind a deadly explosion, unlocking a secret that sparked a civil war and another that ultimately ended it.

Lord Henry Morton, Sir Arlen Barlett and Kian Munro are fiercely loyal to the crown and each other.

Their quest takes them halfway across Mercia following a dangerous trail of murder, deception, long-lost secrets, love and betrayal, entwined with their own personal journey of unequivocal friendship and discovery.

Susanne added: “The men relentlessly race against time to ensure that the Kingdom of Mercia – my fictional medievalesque wold – is not once again consumed by the flames of Vikrin Fire.”

This is the first in a trilogy – Brewin Books, which is publishing the stories, is currently going through the next one in the series – Vikrin Revenge and Susanne is busy writing the third one – Vikrin War.

“I absolutely love history and the book has everything – murder, deception, love, romance, intrigue and a fair few twists and turns.

“I have had some really good feedback about the first book – three people read it before I sent it to Brwewin and the lady who proof-read it for me was very complimentary.

“I have also had two good reviews and a fair number of orders on the Brewin Books website.”
