A BIG midweek of FA Cup action awaits local sides with £2,250 going to the winners of Tuesday’s (September 22) first qualifying round ties.
Evesham United have already netted £1,444 in prize money after last weekend’s preliminary round tie against Coventry United was postponed when Coventry were forced to forfeit the tie due to a Covid-19 outbreak among the squad’s players and coaches.
As a result, Neil Hunt’s Robins are through to visit Southern League Division One Central outfit Daventry Town – who play at the equivalent level to United – next midweek.
Prior to that, United begin their Southern League Division One South campaign at home to Sholing on Saturday (3pm).
Entry is limited to 400 spectators. To confirm your attendance, email your name and number to firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is an exciting FA Cup clash on the horizon on Tuesday when Bromsgrove Sporting host Southern Premier Central counterparts Stratford Town, whilst on the same evening another Southern Premier Central side – Alvechurch – face a tricky test at lower-ranked Shifnal Town.
The Shropshire side, who play in the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division, are dangerous opposition on their day and the all-ticket encounter is sure to prove exciting.
Alvechurch have been allocated 45 of 300 available tickets and reservations must be made by texting your name and number to Steve Denny on 07710 012733. You will then claim and pay for your ticket on the night at Shifnal.
Alvechurch open their league campaign at Hitchin Town on Saturday in another all-ticket affair. To book, visit https://hitchintownfc.ktckts.com.
Please note, with all of the above, tickets could be sold out by the time you are reading this.
Meanwhile, Alvechurch have added striker Isai Marselia to their ranks in time for the trip to Hitchin.
The striker has a healthy scoring record and his previous clubs include Halesowen Town and Sutton Coldfield Town.
