Fancied sides progress in Knockout Cup

TWO of the favourites reached the last eight of the PURR Home Services Knockout Cup in the latest round of Evesham & District Sunday League fixtures.

Bretforton Old Boys won 5-1 at Drakes Broughton Rangers as Daryl Mitchell, Phil Davis, Luke Richardson and Tom Leonard scored for Old Boys and Tom Daffin netted for Rangers.

Evesham WMC had to work hard to overcome Fladbury 3-1 through goals from Bradley Izod, James Schembri and Sean Cooke.

In the Bluck Cup, Broadway Athletic reached the quarter-finals by defeating TDMS Evesham 2-0 with goals from Sam Hopkins and Jason Horsburgh.




In Division One, Inkberrow maintained their title challenge with a 4-0 victory at New Inn Pershore as Alex Bullock (2), Greg Guy and Bill Coughlin found the net.

In Division Two, Ashton 88 recorded a comfortable 6-1 win at home to Broadway United thanks to strikes from Will Stevens (2), Jonathan Cother (2), Josh Keen and Steven Turner, with Brandon Parker scoring a consolation goal for United.


Harvington Harriers won 4-2 at Bear FC thanks to first half goals from Kieran Ashmead (2), Christian Lewis and Johnny Robinson. Bear scored twice in the second half through Josh Rogers.

Bredon produced their best performance of the season in Division Three with a 5-0 win at Vale United in which Matt Tarling (2), Ben Hayward (2) and Jordan Huggins scored.

Fortis defeated Tewkesbury Athletic 3-2 through goals from Ben Herborn, Kieran Napper and Logan Hosking.

Dragons and Asum Athletic drew 1-1 as Adam Hinchcliffe scored for Dragons and Asum replied through an Aiden Booth goal.

Ashton 88 Reserves came out on top 6-3 at Bengeworth as the villagers’ goals came from Lewis Carter (3), Oliver Godfrey (2) and Matthew Knight and the home side netted with goals from Chris Malin (2) and Tom Kirwan.
