In Division 1, the Rubery Athletic train shows no sign of stopping but their margins of victory are getting narrower every week – today’s 3-2 win at Longbridge Social made it four from four with Stourport Swifts midfielder Martin Slevin getting two of the goals and James Ward the other.

In Division 2, AFC Blackwell had a 5-0 away win at Real Norton whose season has yet to get going.

Blackwell put in a composed performance in this one with Craig Goldsby the pick of their scorers with a brace. Norton had Carl Martin sent off for two yellow cards which didn’t help their cause.

Arrow Valley bounced back from their defeat last week to beat old foes Chaddesley Corbett 5-0, Dave Evans at the brace in this one for Valley.

Hizza United came from 2 goals down to draw with AFC Norton with goal a game Harry Nicholls on target for Hizza again.

Eleven goals were shared at Rubery Park where Coldstream played Cofton Old Boys and it was Cofton who got won this one 7-4, having been 3-1 down at one point, six different scorers for Cofton highlighting their range of talent across the team.

In Division 3, Frankley United had a comfortable 7-0 win over Crusaders who somehow turned up in the same colour kit as Frankley meaning they had to play the game in a set of bibs.

The WFA County Cup started this morning and in the Premier version, Quinton Athletic and Mostyn Rangers won through to the next round whilst Catshill and Meadow Park bowed out.

Quinton had a fine 7-3 win over Redditch Prem newboys AFC Walkwood, former semi-pro Jordan Murphy netting a hat-trick with braces for Truslove and O’Donnell.

Mostyn Rangers 3-2 home win over Inkberrow Sunday was an excellent result and gives them a real boost with their first win of the season after a couple of hefty defeats.

Catshill were always facing a hard game at New Dales and so it proved as they went down 6-1.

Meanwhile, Meadow Park are slowly improving too, narrowly losing out to Worcester United Coppertops by the odd goal in seven.

No Junior Cup games this month but in the Minor Cup, three out of our five sides playing got through to the draw tomorrow with excellent wins.

Redditch Borough LA would have expected to have beaten lowly ranked Kidderminster Division 3 side Lickhill Colts more comfortably. But they scraped through on penalties in the end, after Lickhill put up a spirited display under their new manager Andy Shaw, drawing 0-0 after 90 minutes.

Sotuh West Alliance travelled to Berkley Arms and came away 3-1 winners – well done to Geo Burke and his team on that win.

Our other success came when Bvilly Block beat Kidderminster Division 3 side Bay Horse 4-2.  Jack Hodgson and George Snape got two each.

On the flip side, Stoke Prior and Red Star Bromsgrove crashed out, both losing 4-1 at home to Kidderminster League sides.
