RESULTS – Redditch and South Warwickshire Combination Football League

THE second match day of the Redditch and South Warwickshire Combination Football League season saw some more great matches and a great number of goals.

In League 1 there were three games with 12 goals including a superb hat-trick by Joe Towler for Oasthouse Athletic to help them in their 5-0 win over Churchfields – the game of the week.

Crusaders fought back from their loss last week by beating Redditch Borough LA 3-1. Hizza United beat fellow new boys Frankley United 2-1 at home.

In the Championship, SSS Lions beat Headless Cross 4-2 in their first game of the season and AFC Walkwood and Feckenham beat Meadow Park 6-1 with five of their goals scored by Jack Cole.




Redditch Borough JW carried on their scoring mission this week, beating Queens Head 5-1 with two goals from Dean Hay.

In a great game between Abbeydale and Astwood the points were looking like they were Abbeydale’s however with minutes to go Astwood scored their fourth to secure a four-all draw.


In the other game in this division, Redditch Borough NT got their first points of the season with Will Skelton scoring four of their eight goals, beating Beoley Village 8-1.

In the Premiership, Austin Ex Apps took another three points as they beat Catshill 3-1, Rubery Athletico beat AFC Thomas Brothers 4-1 with Dan Murphy scoring two of the goals. Arrow Valley were great in possession as they beat VKL United 3-0 with Shane Hancox scoring two of their goals.

Lastly, in League 2, Bartley Reds B beat Catshill Rangers 1-0, Red Star Bromsgrove beat Rubery Memorial 3-0 and South Birmingham Activ beat Redditch Town 3-2 with a stunning hat-trick from Ellis Reilly. Lydiate Casuals and Stoke Prior shared the points in a 4-4 thriller.
