A MAJOR £250,000 redevelopment of Studley Methodist Church is coming to an end with the church set to reopen with a service of re-dedication on Sunday, March 6 at 10.45am conducted by the Reverend Richard Wilde, circuit superintendent.

Steep uneven steps have been replaced by a new porch at street level leading to a new floor on the same level inside the building, with stairs to the church and the hall below.

A platform lift serves all floors while the toilet and kitchenette are now fully accessible and independent.

The hall has a new, enlarged kitchen, equipped to catering standards, with extensive storage facilities.

A porch has been added at the rear with an additional toilet, while the staircase between the floors has been replaced and the toilet on the lower floor has been refurbished. A new front wall, noticeboard and paving outside and updated lighting and redecoration inside completes the work.

The Studley distribution point for the Arden Foodbank will return to the church on Tuesday March 8, with other regular activities gradually resuming.

There will also be an open day next Saturday, March 12, between 10am and 3pm to give members of the community an opportunity to see what has been done.
