£3million available to insulate homes

Redditch Editorial 12th May, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

NEARLY £3million is available for private homeowners in Redditch wanting insulation.

Worcestershire County Council received the funding from the government and will be offering grants towards the cost of solid wall insulation.

Anyone who owns their own home in Worcestershire and already has solid rather than cavity wall insulation can apply for up to £4,500 towards the cost of the work.

The amount awarded to each household will be determined by the results of a green deal assessment completed by E.ON Energy Solutions, working in partnership with Worcestershire County Council.

The offer is currently available until September this year.

Coun Anthony Blagg said: “We are pleased that this offer is now available to Worcestershire householders. Since January of this year over 120 households in the county have already taken it up.

“Whilst households do need to contribute to the improvement costs, the results are really positive. With better insulation comes a reduced risk of condensation, which is a major bonus to health and comfort.”
