A soft-centred gesture

HEALTH workers are set to receive a special token of appreciation this Valentine’s Day from a not too secret admirer.

Members of the Save the Alex campaign will be delivering more than 100 boxes of chocolates to NHS workers across Redditch and Bromsgrove bearing a heart shaped stethoscope and the slogan ‘we care because you care’.

Workers within the Alexandra Hospital and Princess of Wales Community Hospital will receive the treats as well as GP surgeries in the two towns as a small thank you for the work they do.

The chocolates were provided by the Redditch branch of Thornton’s and funded by the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

Neal Stote, chairman of the Save the Alex campaign, said: “Too often we take NHS workers for granted. What better time than Valentine’s Day to say we love what you do and would miss you if you weren’t there.”

Centre manager Ken Williams said they were keen supporters of the Save the Alex campaign and had no hesitation in supporting the cause.

“Our NHS staff have been under immense pressure this winter and work tirelessly to ensure patients receive the best possible care available. The Alexandra Hospital is a vital service for the people of Redditch and the surrounding areas.”
