A SECOND CT scanner is being installed at the Alexandra Hospital on Thursday (June 25) following an increase in demand for our imaging services.
This will be significant for patients as this second machine will run alongside the existing CT scanner at the hospital, allowing radiology staff to work more efficiently while increasing the number of patients they can see.
The extra scanner will also allow more flexibility when maintenance or servicing is required, meaning patients will be less likely to need to travel to another hospital to have their scans performed.
Both CT scanners will offer patients the highest standard of scanning with the lowest dose of radiation possible. The development will also allow us to create extra jobs and provide an improved service for our patients.
