Charity money stolen from offices

Redditch Editorial 27th May, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

HEARTLESS thieves stole £200 worth of charity money from offices near Redditch town centre.

The burglars forced entry into Redditch Co-operative Homes, on Britten Street, between 5pm on Thursday, May 8 and 9am the following day where they took the money.

The funds were raised through a sponsored walk and staff were planning to donate it to the Brain Tumour Research charity after one of their residents recently passed away from the condition.

Lindsay Griffin, from the branch, said: “We were very upset to find the money that staff and residents had worked so hard to raise had been stolen.

“Brain Tumour Research is a cause that is really close to our hearts and as such we want to do all that we could to raise awareness and show our support.

“We will be trying to raise the money stolen back via our Just Giving web page.”

Anyone with any information on the burglary is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 0115S 090514, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
