Eyes to the Redditch skies for Vintage Gathering

Redditch Editorial 6th Jun, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

IT WILL be eyes on the sky over Redditch this weekend as the annual Vintage Gathering once again welcomes the Battle of Britain memorial flypast.

The event at SE Davis’s Sandhills Farm on Edgioake Lane on Saturday (June 11) will feature shows from one of the most iconic air display teams in the world, the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

The spectacle in the skies over Astwood Bank will feature a Spitfire and a Hurricane on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons and will be a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by armed forces in the Second World War.

The two-day celebration of vintage engines and machinery has been organised by the North Worcestershire Vintage Tractor & Engine Club and will also feature a host of other attractions, arts, crafts and music.

Festivities will continue into the evening with entertainment from Dr Busker and refreshments on site.

Tickets cost £6 for adults, £5 for concessions, £3 for children and under-10s go free.

Gates open at 10am each day with proceeds in support of Midland Air Ambulance.
