The Mayor of Redditch Councillor Pattie Hill hoisted the Red Ensign flag at Redditch Town Hall on Thursday in recognition of the Merchant Navy’s contribution to the town as part of Merchant Navy Day, September 3.
Coun Hill said: “The merchant shipping industry is vital to our economy, not least for taking the manufacturing exports that Redditch sends all over the world. To our current and former Merchant Navy seafarers we say thank you.”
