A NEW headteacher has made the move from Minehead to take over a borough school.

Steve Bond has been officially appointed as headteacher at Woodfield Academy, having previously been deputy at Minehead Middle School Academy.

He said he was ‘delighted’ and felt privileged to be given the opportunity to work within a ‘vibrant and dedicated school community’.

“I am grateful to my predecessors and governors who have and continue to work tirelessly to ensure the academy’s continued success and I look forward to building on this.” he said.

“Our Woodfield values reflect our desire for the very best outcomes for all of our children and I look forward to working with pupils, colleagues and partners to ensure this remains our day-to-day priority. The educational landscape is forever changing and we will continue to live by our core principles whilst making the most of every opportunity on our ‘journey to excellence’.”
