Hit the open gardens trail in Astwood Bank

Redditch Editorial 3rd Jun, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

WHERE can you see a giant caterpillar, a kissing couple, a ruined abbey and a tree house? They are all to be discovered at the Astwood Bank Open Gardens event on June 11-12 from 10am to 4pm each day.

With a record number of 42 stops on route, entry at only £5 each is available from Botany Bay Nursery in Edgioake Lane, Astwood Bank. The full colour booklet will guide visitors around the village so that they can spot gardens designed for wildlife, admire residents topiary skills and walk on a range of lawns from those in pristine condition to the creative use of artificial grass.

Several of the gardens will be offering refreshments and there will also be the opportunity to but plants.

All of the money raised from the weekend will go to Astwood Bank Carnival for distribution to its numerous charities and good causes.

The Astwood Bank in Bloom group are also adding to the experience through creating several displays around the village, and the village will be bedecked in bunting to help celebrate the Queens 90th birthday.
