Hot-footing it to a great total for Redditch charity

A REDDITCH family took their fundraising efforts to Bromsgrove ensuring a bank holiday scorcher with their fire walk.

Residents flocked to Catshill Social club where Rob and Maggie Underwood, alongside their friend Tracey, organised the event to raise money to get defibrillators into schools in the town as part of the Charlotte and Craig Saving hearts Foundation’s aim.

And they were joined on the day by four members of the Redditch Standard sales team who braved the flames for the worthy cause.

More than £800 was raised on the day and with sponsorship money and donations still to come in Rob hopes they will be able to collect more than £2,000 for the life saving machines.

The Standard’s own Louise Hillman, Sade Williams-Hubble, Sarah Barrass and Tammy Farrington all took part in the firewalk.

Rob said: “I want to say a big thank you to everyone and to Catshill Club for letting us invade. UK Fire Walk have dramatically helped us too.

“It is hard work sometimes as a family charity so without the support of these people, and The Standard who have been a huge support, we wouldn’t be able to have done so much good.”
