Keep your hawk-eyes open in Redditch for missing bird

A RARE bird is leading its owner on a wild ‘Gos’-chase since it went missing in the Redditch area.

Kevin Picken has been looking for his white Siberian Goshawk since July 18, when the bird escaped from an aviary in Studley.

The bird of prey has a wingspan of around three feet and has been spotted in the area on several occasions, most recently flying over Spernal.

Kevin, a hawk breeder, said: “She’s a young bird and has been missing for more than two weeks.

“She is very important to me and there is a reward available to anyone who returns her to me safely, so I urge people to keep their eyes on the skies.”

The four-year-old has white feathers and has been feeding on prey such as large rodents, rabbits, pheasants and squirrels.

Anyone with information or sightings of the bird should note the location and contact Kevin on 07831 800042.
