A large fuel spillage in Redditch this afternoon (Tuesday) required fire services from both Worcestershire and Warwickshire to attend.

At around 3.20pm today (August 2)emergency services were called to deal with a large diesel spillage on Astwood Lane in Astwood Bank following a collision between a Four-wheel-drive car and lorry.

The fire team from Redditch and the Environmental Protection Unit from Alcester were called to the incident and it was some time before a tank of contaminated diesel could be dealt with safely.

The road is now believed to be open and the spillage dealt with appropriately.
