Late change to festival line-up

Redditch Editorial 15th Aug, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A HEADLINE act at this weekend’s Morton Stanley Festival has been replaced at the eleventh hour.

Organisers said the band Layers who were expected to take the stage tomorrow (Saturday) had to pull out due to unforeseen circumstances.

The 4pm slot will be filled with Ocean Colour Scene’s Dan Sealey and Merrymouth’s Adam Barry who will treat audiences with some of the bands’ favourite numbers.

The free family-friendly festival which runs tomorrow and Sunday (August 17), will showcase 16 hours of local talent and a wide array of entertainment.

It has proved popular over the years with thousands flocking to the park and a waiting list for bands to perform on the main stage.

As in previous years the Saturday night will be dedicated to local bands, while Sunday will see The Destroyers take centre stage, an act who describe themselves as an anarchic orchestra of blazing passion and breathtaking originality.

There will also be a wide range of stalls and activities across the whole weekend including an array of craft stalls.
