Lunch serves up Masons’ cash

THE annual lunch of Redditch’s Masonic Lodges saw six bumper cheques handed out to local deserving causes on Sunday (May 22).

In all the Masons have handed out more than £9,000 over the Year to May 31, 2016 including a bumper cheque of £1,250 to Redditch First Responders, £600 to the Alzheimers Society, £250 to Astwood Bank Welfare Society, £300 to the Primrose Hospice Choir, £500 to the Charlotte and Craig’s Savings Heart Foundation, and £250 to Redditch sea Cadets.

Spokesman Roger Bennett said: “This is an annual event and it’s all money raised through the Freemasons of this hall and we look forward to doing a lot more for the local community.”
