MORE people than ever flocked to Morton Stanley Festival to enjoy two days of music and more.
The free family-friendly event returned on Saturday and Sunday (August 16 and 17) to showcase 16 hours of local talent.
An estimated 11,000 people visited the site over the two days making it the most successful year for Redditch Borough Council which organise the event.
As in previous years, the Saturday night was dedicated to local bands with Dan Sealey from Ocean Colour Scene and Merrymouth and Adam Barry from Merrymouth playing all the favourites while The Destroyers took to the stage on Sunday.
Visitors also enjoyed a wide range of stalls and activities across the whole weekend including craft stalls and a fun fair.
A Redditch Borough Council spokeswoman said: “This year’s festival was another success with more people than we have ever seen particularly on the Saturday. We estimate over 11,000 people visited us over the two days.
“It was great to see so many people supporting our two amazing headline acts and our local bands.
“We have such talent in Redditch and Morton Stanley Festival is a great way to showcase it all.
“As well as music there were stalls and activities for all the family – it looked like everyone had fun.”
