Northbound M6 through Staffordshire closed for resurfacing following incident

Redditch Editorial 18th Jul, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

DRIVERS using the northbound M6 through Staffordshire are advised that three lanes remain closed while resurfacing takes place following an incident earlier today.

The carriageway is closed between Junction 12 for Cannock/Telford, and Junction 13 for Stafford.

The incident involved a lorry and resulted in 100 litres of diesel being spilled across 200m of the carriageway; this damaged the carriageway, making it unsafe for road users.

Highways England and its contractors are working hard to reopen the carriageway as soon as it is safe to do so and are currently resurfacing the lanes.

Drivers who are expecting to use this section of motorway, especially during the evening peak, are advised to check conditions before they travel and to leave extra time for their journeys.
