A WOMAN arrested following a disturbance at a party claimed amphetamines in her handbag were diet pills.

Jade Samantha Campion, 26, of Valley Close, Callow Hill, who admitted drinking gin, vodka and sambuca on the evening, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and possession of a Class B drug before Redditch magistrates on Tuesday, (May 19).

The court heard police were directed to a disturbance at a party in High Trees Close, at around 10.30pm on April 28.

There they found Campion shouting and holding a bottle of sambuca in her hand and swigging from it.

She was arrested and taken to Kidderminster police station where amphetamines were found in her handbag.

Campion said she did not remember being aggressive and had changed her handbag before the party and did not know the capsules were in it.

She added the blue capsules were diet pills she had brought off the internet.

Defending, Mark Turnbull told the court Campion had pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity and recalled little, except that it was a good party.

Campion was fined a total of £220 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and £150 in court charges.
