Pedal power to raise money

Redditch Editorial 9th Oct, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A CARE officer used pedal power in a duathalon to raise money to fund activities for residents.

Kirstie Street, who works for St David’s House and Queen’s Cottages in Batchley, took on a gruelling 50k run-bike-run in Worcester which took her three hours and 42 minutes.

A total of £648 was raised from the day as well as an afternoon tea where Mrs Street told the tenants what she was doing.

Next Friday (October 17) a dress down day will also be held by Redditch Borough Council, which owns the sheltered accommodation.

Money raised on the day will also go into the pot for St David’s and will fund activities and entertainment for residents.

To donate call St David’s House on 01527 584 769.
