A REDDITCH teenager has proved she has brains as well as beauty after being crowned Face of The World.
Rosie Thompson, from Brockhill, was awarded the title as part of the Miss Earth competition which will now see her go on to represent Teen England in the final.
The 17-year-old had to raise funds for national conservation projects as part of the pageant which saw her organise a women’s evening where there was a fashion show, hair and beauty products on sale and physics.
She raised a total of £1,025 and went to the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham where she completed three speeches and four catwalk shows as part of the competition.
After a number of awards were presented, the final Face of the World title was handed to the Bromsgrove High School pupil by Miss Universe Great Britain 2013 winner Amy Willerton.
She said: “I was ecstatic. I remember virtually running up on stage, and just wrapping my arms around Amy Willerton before she crowned me the winner.
“My family stood screaming with joy, and it was nothing less than the best moment of my life, to say the least.
“I am overjoyed to this day, not only for winning, but also for having the opportunity to represent my hometown, somewhere that I am proud of, and I cannot wait to start organising community projects, helping the environment and raising awareness for environmental issues occurring throughout the world.”
As well as winning the title, the beauty was also awarded a contract with a top London modelling agency.
