THE TOWN’S MP was among those celebrating at a star-studded event in London last night (Wednesday) to mark the fourth annual Grassroot Diplomat Initiative Awards.
Mrs Lumley was awarded the title of ‘Honouree’ for the outstanding business support she has given to local constituents and businesses.
The awards recognise outstanding politicians and diplomats who are representing civilian interests at the highest level in areas of policy, social and business.
Mrs Lumley was nominated for her activism in business promotion within Redditch, especially with her Business Leaders’ forum which she hosts quarterly.
Speaking after the event, Mrs Lumley said it had been a ‘lovely evening;.
She added: “I felt very special to be amongst such high-profile politicians and diplomat – it was fascinating to hear of the contribution they all make to their own communities.”
The MP added she felt ‘enormously privileged’ to be recognised for her work in the Redditch business community.
She said: “Those who know me will know that I am passionate about Redditch and its thriving businesses and I will always do everything I can to help them flourish.”
