A RUNNING event will take place next week in a bid to raise funds for a charity which provides defibrillators to community venues and organisations.
And it is hoped some of the cash raised will be spent on a defibrillator for the Hanbury parkrun.
More than 60 runners from Redditch’s Arrow Valley parkrun have been raising funds throughout the year for the Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation (CCSHF), which works hard to supply defibrillators to communities.
CCSHF provided Arrow Valley parkrun with a defib earlier this year after the Easter parkrun raised £306.04 and the fourth birthday event brought in £644.66.
Participants in next Saturday’s (September 3) fund-raiser will run eight 5K courses in the area and a junior parkrun, which equates to 26.2miles – the distance of a marathon.
The schedule will start with the Wyre Forest parkrun at 7.30am before moving on to Hanbury at 9am, Worcester at 10.30am, Tewkesbury at midday, Cheltenham at 1.30pm, Evesham at 3.30pm, Stratford at 5pm and finishing at Arrow Valley at 7.30pm.
At 6.30pm – in between the last two full parkruns – participants will undertake the Bromsgrove junior parkrun to make up the 26.2-mile distance.

All money raised will be used by CCSHF (www.ccshf.org.uk) to fund defibrillators.
Three schools have been identified as being the next to receive defibrillators as they have children there with heart conditions.
“We also hope to raise enough money to also provide Hanbury parkrun with a defibrillator,” said organiser Rachel.
