REDDITCH shoppers looking for that perfect quirky gift need look no further than the Kingfisher Shopping Centre’s newest independent addition.

Little Gerties, run by Birmingham-based brothers Mark and Jason Wilkes, recently opened its doors on Walford Walk opposite Marks and Spencer.

The eclectic new store aims to support local businesses by showcasing a variety of gorgeous one-off products from the town’s home-grown independents.

Little Gerties is a spin-off of Bert and Gert’s established independent market that has brought a great mix of handmade and locally sourced arts, crafts, clothing and jewellery to the Kingfisher on the second Saturday of the month for just over a year.

The Wilkes brothers said their events have a ‘real community feel’ and that all of the traders are supportive of each other.

They added: “We want to give traders the opportunity to grow their hobbies and passions into successful sustainable businesses.”

Ken Williams, general manager at the Kingfisher Centre said the team is ‘thrilled’ to be welcoming Mark and Jason’s new venture and they are looking forward to seeing the store flourish.

Local designer makers and crafters looking to showcase their wares in the Little Gerties store should contact Mark or Jason directly at [email protected] and visit www.kingfishershopping.co.uk for information on upcoming events.
