RESIDENTS across the borough are doing all sorts of things to raise money for Children in Need.

Children at Crabss Cross and Hunt End pre-school dressed up as Super Heroes and carried out various fun activities during the morning, raising £326 so far.

There were spots everywhere at Noah’s Ark Nursery as children came dressed in spotted attire raising over £50.

Holyoakes First School opened its doors to a very special guest as part of Children in Need.

Pudsey the bear met pupils and parents to collect pennies and pounds for the appeal which will air on BBC One today (Friday).

The drive aims to raise funds to change the lives of children and young people in the UK.

More than 2,600 projects are currently being supported by the organisation every year.

The school will be holding another collection on Thursday (November 20) and will also be taking part in activities in their classrooms to boost the amount of money raised.

Every snore will be raising more at a sleepover for Children In Need at St Thomas More Catholic First School.

A total of 75 pupils and 17 staff from the Woodrow based school will stay overnight to boost funds for this year’s appeal.

Children and teachers are also wearing their pyjamas during the day in return for a £1 donation while while those staying for the night will part with £8 to enjoy live music, quizzes and activities.

Businesses including Domino’s Pizza, Merchants Fish Bar, Shahi Palace and Morrison’s have all donated food to support the fund-raisers, who hope to raise at least £500.
