A WINYATES Green granddad who has completed races around the world has set his sights on a challenge in Myanmar.
Doug Richards will be running a half marathon around the temples and pagodas of the ancient site of Bagan in aid of Midlands Air Ambulance.
In contrast to the ice and cold of the polar ice-cap in Greenland last year, temperatures are expected to approach 40 degrees.
Doug said: “Adapting your training and your personal equipment to the climatic conditions you are likely to face are all part of the preparation for this type of event and, of course, it is an amazing experience to run in such spectacular settings.”
