At the count, just after 2.30am, Independent candidate Seth Colton said he ‘felt great’.
“For me it was about showing people what can be achieved. If only two people voted for me then they get me and they understand that I was standing up for them.
“But I was also able to show my children Sophie and Olivia democracy in action.
“That you can stand up for what you believe in, tell the truth and be strong in your convitctions and that’s a lesson to learn.
“They listened to the hustings at Astwood Bank on the radio and they said, if everyone who applauded you voted for you then you’d win.
“So I’m proud that I have stood in this election and I’ve done it whilst carrying on working.
“I’m proud of what I’ve achieved and I’m proud to live in Redditch.”
