PUPILS at an Evesham Road school raced their way to success by reading as many books as possible.
A competition launched at Crabbs Cross Academy following the opening of their new library saw each student given their own racing car on a track, with the aim being to read 30 books.
All of the children who reached the finish line were entered into a prize draw for a Kindle and Year 1’s Ashleigh Power was drawn as the lucky winner.
A spokeswoman said: “The purpose of this initiative was to encourage the children to be reading regularly, whilst also developing their love of reading.
“The children have really enjoyed checking their progress on the racing tracks and overtaking classmates in their bid to reach the finish line.”
