THE LOVING brother of a woman who sadly lost her fight with cancer last year, has arranged a 20 mile charity walk in her memory.
Alan Rumble, along with fellow Astwood Bank villagers, will embark on the hike on Friday (September 5) to honour his sister Sue Prowse who passed away last December, aged just 59.
“My life was turned upside down with the loss of my fantastic sister,” Alan said. “I made a promise to myself, that when the time was right I would try and raise as much money as I could in her memory in aid of Cancer Research UK.
“The time is now here and a challenge has been set.”
The event will see the participants hike the 20 mile circular route, via Henley in Arden and Ullenhall, in just one day.
The team will depart from the Astwood Bank traffic lights at 9am on September 5 – two days before what would have been Sue’s 60th birthday.
To date just under £500 has been raised via the group’s Just Giving page – with one kind-hearted volunteer donating £100.
