CHILDREN naughty and nice had better watch out as Santa Claus has come to town.
Father Christmas was officially welcomed to Redditch on Saturday (November 15) as he took a tour of the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, before inspecting his reindeer outside St Stephen’s Church and being escorted to his grotto where he will be based until Christmas Eve.
There was also street entertainment on offer in Church Green including giant dancing baubles and stilt walkers, balloon modelling, face painting as well as the chance to pet the reindeer.
The event was the first of five weeks of activities lined-up by the Kingfisher Centre, Redditch Town Centre Partnership and the borough council to celebrate the festive season and has replaced the traditional Christmas Lights switch-on.
The festivities continue today (Friday) with arts and crafts in Market Place and the chance to make traditional rural crafts tomorrow (Saturday).
On X Factor finalists Overload performing in the Kingfisher Centre on Sunday (November 23) at 3pm with a meet and greet from 1pm.
