POWER Maxed Racing driver Dexter Patterson came away from the latest round of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) top of the Jack Sears Trophy standings.

On a landmark weekend for the Studley-based team’s drivers, Patterson finished 11th in race one and eighth in races two and three to claim the trophy at Oulton Park.

And Patterson, along with teammate Mikey Doble, celebrated their 100th starts in the BTCC with all of the latter’s 100 race appearances coming with Power Maxed Racing.

Doble enjoyed a productive weekend as he secured sixth, fifth and 11th-place finishes to sit seventh in the drivers’ standings and top of the independent drivers leaderboard.

Teammate Aiden Moffat finished fifth and 10th in races one and three after propping up the grid in race two following a blistering free practice session which saw him top the timesheets.

Power Maxed Racing (LKQ Euro Car Parts) now sit fourth in the teams standings on 186 points and also lead the independent teams leaderboard by a single point.

Racing for Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing, Patterson finished eighth in the qualifying race with track conditions improving.

He just missed out on a top-10 finish in race one and responded to finish eighth in race two.

The reverse grid race saw Patterson start from fourth on the grid and he brought the car home in eighth again driving on the hard compound tyre.

Patterson’s results saw him claim the Jack Sears Trophy with the Scottish driver just seven points ahead of James Dorlin in the overall trophy standings.

Racing for LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing, Doble placed sixth and Moffat ninth in a qualifying race which took place in increasingly challenging conditions.

And Moffat finished just ahead of Doble in race one while the latter also produced the fastest independent lap of the race.

Doble placed well again in race two although a trip across the grass for Moffat forced the latter stop for checks to his car which left him a lap down on his rivals.

Moffat produced a recovery drive in race three to secure a top-10 finish with Doble just behind.

The BTCC season continues at Thruxton on the weekend of July 25 and 26.
