WALLOP Boxing Club’s director and lead coach, Carl Dickens, insists the club’s weekend show promises to be the biggest and best yet.

The show takes place on Saturday, June 27 at Bromsgrove Rugby Club with tickets available on the door.

Redditch-based Wallop will face a Midlands Select squad in the first half of the show at Finstall Park.

And the second half of the show will pit an Elite Midlands county squad against the UK Armed Forces.

A total of 20 bouts will take place across the card.

Dickens said: “It’s our biggest show to date.

“We want to bring the community of Redditch together on what is no doubt going to be a quality show.

“The show also falls on Armed Forces Day with the show to take place in two halves.

“The undercard features Wallop fighters against a Midlands Select squad before the Midlands Elite boxers take on the UK Armed Forces.

“It promises to be a great show in great conditions with tickets available on the door.”

Former European middleweight champion Tyler Denny will attend as a special guest along with armed forces veterans.

And the RAF Cadets band will drum in both the UK Armed Forces and Midlands Elite squads to the ring.

Wallop will also auction off boxing memorabilia in the interval before the main card bouts begin.

Doors open at 12pm (midday) with the first bout scheduled for 1pm while the last bout will take place at around 6.30pm.

The fully licensed bar will remain open until late with England’s FIFA World Cup game against Panama taking place later in the evening.
