AFTER six months of intensive rehearsals, Astwood Bank Operatic Society enters the final weekend of preparations for next week’s annual production – Lerner & Loewe’s ‘Brigadoon’.
The 35-strong company moves to the Palace Theatre on Monday for final technical and dress rehearsals ready for the opening night on Wednesday (March 9).
“Our members are drawn from a wide area – mostly based in Redditch – but we’re glad to maintain the close historic links with Astwood Bank, where all rehearsals are still held,” said spokesman Steve Skinner,
Brigadoon is an enchanting show, which combines romance, fantasy, comedy and pathos, all set to memorable music by the composer of My Fair Lady and Gigi.
It runs from March 9 to March 12, at 7.30 pm, with an additional matinee performance on the Saturday, at 2.30pm.
