Bringing some sparkle to the stage in Redditch

Redditch Editorial 7th Apr, 2017   0

THE Palace played host to a night of dance and entertainment last Thursday when Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev and his amazing dancers brought a touch of genuine sparkle to the stage.

The first half of the show opened with a amazing dance to Boney M’s ‘Rasputin’ sung beautifully by Lisa Holmes who was brilliant throughout the show who also chatted about Pasha and his professional dance partner Anya Garnis journey from Siberia to America.

Personal highlights before the break were a tribute to the victims of 9/11 beautifully and two stunning routines from local dance group Starlight which got the crowd really going.

The second half opened with another energetic dance routine a second routine with Starlight – featuring a great cameo appearance from the man himself and Anya to ‘Gangnam Style’ which got everyone up on their feet and dancing, and a great audience participation section with hilarious consequences (the tribute to Magic Mike especially).

The show ended in a carnival-style atmosphere with everyone dancing, thunderous applause for all the performers but especially Pasha and Anya who were treated like rock stars.

A definite highlight – go and see Pasha if you can whenever he’s on tour – I guarantee you’ll come out smiling (and dancing).
