Martin Kemp coming to Redditch to cut a long story short

Redditch Editorial 23rd Apr, 2017   0

GET an insight into showbusiness when the Palace Theatre hosts an up close and personal evening of conversation with Martin Kemp.

A musician and actor Martin appeared with his brother Gary in the 1990’s film ‘The Krays’ and as the villainous Steve Owen in EastEnders, the arch nemesis of Phil Mitchell.

An occasional TV presenter and performer his credits include roles in Daddy’s Girl, Serious and Organised, The Family, The Brides in The Bath, Can’t Buy Me Love, Waterloo Road and Birds of a Feather.

He was also of course the bass player in the chart topping new romantic pop band Spandau Ballet set up by his brother Gary. The band rode the New Romantic wave and churned out hits like Gold, Only When You Leave and Through the Barricades as well as performing on the original Band Aid single in 1984.

He was most recently seen as a judge on Let It Shine where he helped pop legend Gary Barlow find the next musical boy band for the show.

This promises to be a fascinating evening with Martin where he will be discussing his life in the public eye and answering audience questions.

Martin Kemp is on stage atthe Palace on Thursday, May 4 at 7.30pm.
