Raising voices and money with Alcester Male Voice Choir

Redditch Editorial 2nd May, 2017   0

THE Alcester Male Voice Choir is taking part in a charity concert in Worcester Cathedral to raise funds for a Bromsgrove church in urgent need of repair.

St Michael and All Angels in Stoke Prior is a Grade I listed building dating back to the 12th century and has links to Droitwich Salt King John Corbett who extensively restored it.

Some of that Victorian work however is now life-expired and the church needs £250,000 worth of work.

In 17 months just under £40,000 has been raised and an application has been made to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a grant.

The concert is at 7.30pm on May 6 with the event featuring a number of guests, including organist Christopher Allsop, Keith Hyett on guitar and soprano Catherine Tabberner.

Tickets at £15, are available from Christine Huzzey on 01527 831706.

A coach is also available. Call 01527 831706 for more information.
