THERE’S a war going on in Studley – with military grade training weapons, lights, music and action.
It’s all to do with Laser Conflict Studley, a new venture by Golf Alchemy’s Mario Francolini on the site of the golf driving range on Brickyard Lane.
Featuring a host of scenarios, it’s aimed at engaging participants in an exhausting and fun-filled shoot-and-move workout for the brain and the body.
“We wanted to get an alternative to paintball, something that doesn’t hurt when you’re hit and which is ageless and sexless, something that encourages communication and team work and which is fun to play as well,” said Mario, who’s turned acres of land into a battlefield complete with flying flags, sandbags, vehicles, and a ‘tank’.
“We were out in the dark in the pouring rain the other night and it was fantastic fun but it’s also the sort of game you can play in T-shirts and shorts,” said Mario.
The centre is already turning heads with an early visitor being the 13-times world billiard champion and snooker legend Rex Williams.
