Charged with possessing a machine-gun after police swoop on M5

A MAN from Redditch has been charged with possession of a sub-machine gun and ammunition.

Ross Braithwaite, from Holloway Lane was arrested after officers from West Midlands Police stopped a car on the M5 motorway between junctions 3 and 4 near Bromsgrove on Tuesday afternoon, October 13.

Officers seized the pistol from a rucksack along with 20 rounds of ammunition.

Braithwaite was charged with possessing a banned firearm and ammunition.




The 31-year-old appeared in court via video link from the cell block this morning, Thursday, October 15, and has been remanded into prison until his next court appearance on November 12.
