Redditch Business Improvement District will host its Food Festival later this month, a three-day fun filled event featuring a range of food and drink traders, live entertainment, demo kitchen and so much more.

Running from Friday 27th May until Sunday 29th May, the town centre will be transformed to provide the backdrop to a fun-filled weekend of entertainment including a live demo kitchen headed by multi-Michelin star and 5/5 AA Rosette winning Chef, Author, and Restaurateur Jean-Christophe Novelli.

Kids and family entertainment from Katy Ashworth, Madam Zucchini and supported by local talents from Indigo Arts, Top Box Theatre Company, and Shaun Paul Smith Dance Academy.

The Redditch Food Festival is set to become one of Worcestershire’s most anticipated events of the year, giving a big boost to the town centre economy.

The BID, that represents the businesses in Redditch town centre is keen to organise different events throughout the year to promote and enhance the image of our town and bringing together the whole community.

BID manager, Muj Rahman, said of the event:

“Following on from the success of our Christmas Extravaganza event last November, we are incredibly excited to announce and host our Food Festival this summer to coincide with the Queen`s Jubilee celebrations, making this a very special event for our town.

“Food and drink are so central to the way that we celebrate special occasions or to the way that we socialise with others, so it is wonderful to be able to offer Redditch locals the space to come together, socialise and just soak up the festive atmosphere. With lots of family entertainment planned for the weekend, it is a great way of celebrating how multicultural our local community is, reflecting our vibrant community and all that it has to offer”.

Expect to find tasty street food options from around the world, tempting sweet treats crafted by artisan producers including hot and cold items as well as a variety of beverages including cocktail stands and quirky craft items.

The event will be open for visitors from 10am-6pm Friday to Sunday and will take place in the town centre around St-Stephens Church and hosted in partnership with the market events experts RR Events.

Mme Zucchini will be presenting her unique shows and veg craft sessions on Saturday 28th May and Katy Ashworth, British TV presenter, actor and live performer will take the stage on Sunday 29th May with her award-winning show. She has been a household name in the UK for the BAFTA award-winning Channel CBeebies since 2009 as the host of their flagship cookery show ‘ I Can Cook’ and the daily links in the ‘CBeebies house’. Live music lovers will be treated to great tunes throughout Saturday and Sunday, featuring performances from a range of local talents.
