A CITY-based arts group is heading to Redditch to promote their latest production at the Palace Theatre.

The Birmingham Institute of Theatre Arts (BITA) features a cast of young people fresh from supporting multi-platinum selling world star Josh Groban on his recent UK tour.

They will be staging ‘13’ the Musical (music & lyrics by Jason Robert Brown) from September 8–10 at the theatre including a Saturday matinee performance at 2.30pm. The performance is all about growing up. It tells the story of Evan (played by local singer star Billy Vale) who, when his parents get divorced, is forced to move from New York to a small town in Indiana, where all he wants to do is make friends and survive the school year.

With a great rock score, 13 is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages about discovering that cool is where you find it, and sometimes where you least expect it.

Members of BITA will be performing throughout the day in Worcester Square in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre this Saturday, (June 27). After raising a great amount of money recently for the MS Society they are now turning their attention to collecting money in charity buckets for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

There will also be a competition to win four free tickets to the show.

Tickets for the show are £15 and £13.50 (concessions) available on 01527 852935.
