A FRESH new musical comedy that is sure to leave the audience laughing all the way home is coming to the Palace Theatre stage in Redditch next week.
The Addams Family is being performed by the town’s brilliant Harlequins Drama Group, a multi-award winning theatre company for aspiring young performers aged 12 to 18.
Their previous productions such as Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera have left audiences calling for more with their professional production qualities and outstanding performances from not only local but international students.
Harlequins director Jonathan Boxall-Southall said: “This year’s upcoming production of The Addams Family will certainly not disappoint and lives up to the standard set by previous productions.
“With a truly dedicated and talented cast of 17, each member of the company excels in the story telling of gothic princess Wednesday Addams with toe-tapping musical numbers, comedic acting and a story line as relevant as ever to everyone right now.”
Wednesday has grown up and fallen in love with a ‘normal’ boy.
Her family do not take too kindly to this announcement and do everything in their power to stop her from marrying Lucas.
But with the help of her Uncle Fester and dead ancestors she is determined to convince her parents that she knows what she is doing and that she is ready for love.
“The cast have been rehearsing hard since January and have formed a real family bond which resonates on stage,” said Jonathan.
“Each cast member auditioned to be in the production and have all worked extremely hard to create a slick production which is guaranteed to give you a night out you will not forget.”
The show runs from Wednesday to Friday, June 5-7, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 from the Palace box office in person or on 01527 65203 or buy online at www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk/.
