Comedy fun mixes horror and laughs as Gonzo Moose makes tracks for Feckenham Village Hall

A RIP-roaring comedy adventure inspired by the Horror movies of the 1950s is heading for Feckenham Village Hall this Sunday, February 11.

‘The Thing That Came From Over There’ promises a fast-paced rollicking ride, mixing paranoia, suspense and hilariously gruesome deaths courtesy of Gonzo Moose – a theatre company that specialises in inventive interpretations of historical events and classic stories.

It’s set in 1912, and as Scott and Amundsen begin their race across Antarctica, the hapless explorer, Captain Reginald Cranston, has accidentally landed on the wrong side of the continent.

As Cranston and his motley band set up base camp, a meteor crashes nearby.

They decide to investigate unaware of the danger that awaits not just them, but the whole of planet Earth…..

What ancient evil lurks inside the crater? What is the dark secret of the slimy fungus? And what is the horrifying fate of those who encounter the parasitic space worms?

Join the daring Gonzos in an adventure full of shocks, spine tingling silliness, and blood curdling terror.

Not only that but it features a top quality cast including Alys Torrence who plays Dr Sheila Walsh in BBC1’s ‘Doctors’ and regularly appears in ‘Coronation Street’ …as a doctor, Mark Dawson who has appeared in live action versions of ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ and ‘Back to the Future’ and Ben Whitehead who is normally heard but not seen – he’s provided voices for all of the Wallace and Gromit films and is in the latest Aardman Animation feature film, ‘Early Man’.

The show has been brought to Redditch’s rural outpost by Shindig – the county’s performing arts scheme and the performance is sponsored by Arts Council England, Worcestershire County Council and Redditch Borough Council.

Tickets are £10 from the Village Shop and The Rose & Crown in Feckenham or book online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/feckenham or call 0333 666 3366.

Doors open at 7pm, curtain up at 7.30pm and there’s a licenced bar.
