AMAZING multi-instrumentalist Juzzie Smith is only playing three UK gigs – and one of them is at Beoley Village Hall next Wednesday.

The talented Aussie was spotted on Youtube by local resident Paul Leyser who helps organises concerts at the hall.

A phone call later, and he was booked.

“I saw he was touring and travelling from Germany to Holland so I got in touch and he said ‘yeah, okay’ and we’ve got him,” said Paul.

Juzzie hails from Byron Bay in New South Wales, Australia, and has the ability to play six instruments at once whilst juggling percussion.

His bluesy folk style has won him legions of fans in his native Oz and now he’s touring across Europe.

“He is playing only three venues in the UK, of whioch Beoley Village Hall is one,” said Paul.

“Tickets are being sold in advance and it is fair to say that we have been surprised by the distances that some people are coming!

“So far, we have people from Leicestershire, Bristol and Truro in Cornwall apart from more local people.”

With over 120 million views on social media and topping the blues iTunes charts around the world Juzzie Smith has carved out a global following.

“He’s going to be travelling up to Edinburgh where he’ll pick up a motorhome someone has leant him and then he’ll be coming down to us,” said Paul.

Juzzie Smith’s gig is on Wednesday, May 30, doors open at 7.15pm for an 8pm start and tickets are just £10.
